Feeding
C.A.R.E. will supply with you puppy food, and will calculate the amount of food per feeding based on the puppies’ weights. Ideally puppies should be fed 3 times a day, once in the morning, once mid-day, and once in the evening.
You will be given puppy dry and wet food, we typically feed Science Diet. A small amount of wet food can be mixed with warm water and poured over the top of the dry food, then left to sit for a little while so the kibbles become softer and easier for the puppies to eat.
Please keep the puppies on the food we supply to you. Their stomachs can be very sensitive to food changes, causing diarrhea and other stomach issues.
Growth
The growth rate and normal weight based on age will vary depending on the breed. If we have asked you to weigh the puppies daily, please do so and enter the weights in our Puppy Weight Monitor Sheet. The C.A.R.E. medical team will take a look at these weights daily to ensure your puppies are on the right track.
