What is a working cat?

Cats that come to our shelters with histories and temperaments better suited to an outdoor lifestyle can be successfully placed with caring owners as working cats. These cats live in an outdoor setting where they have a "job". All of our working cats require adequate shelter, daily food and water, and medical care as necessary. When moving to a new outdoor home, they must be crated for at least 3 weeks to acclimate to their new environment.
