Racing for Shelter Pets
On Saturday, August 17, we hosted our annual Dog Day 5K race at Two Rivers Park. The community showed up in a big way, welcoming over 50 racers to run or walk in support and celebration of local shelter pets, with all proceeds benefiting our organization. The race is particularly unique because it is both human- and dog-friendly; all racers were invited to participate with their social, leashed pup – nearly 20 dogs showed up and made their way out-and-back along the Rio Grande Trail.
Tasty snacks were provided at the start/finish courtesy of Annie’s Cafe & Bakery and Sweet Coloradough, both located in Glenwood Springs. Our event wouldn’t possible without our incredible sponsors: Alpine Bank, White House Pizza, and Glenwood Springs Ford! Representation from all sponsors were present and celebrated the event’s success alongside our team.
Shoutout to Sundae for providing $2-off coupons to all our racers, as well as Slope & Hatch, Treadz, Casey Brewing & Blending, and Factory Outdoor for generously donating our raffle prizes!
